I view trauma as a relational experience. Not only is it often caused by relations with others, but it is also the new development of healthy relationships that can assist in healing. Because of this, the therapeutic space I aim to create is highlighted by inclusivity. I incorporate anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and strength-based approaches with my commitment to growing my knowledge of intersectional oppression. My goal with each client is to create an authentic relationship built on the foundations of validation, trust and optimism.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER IF...

About Marc.

I began my journey by completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts in film production at York University, where I specialized as a documentary filmmaker to expose the stigmatization within the Canadian legal system. I worked alongside incredible activists, tackling racial and gender bias within the judicial system. After graduation, I began working as a crisis counsellor for numerous organizations (e.g., victim services, certified listeners), specializing in trauma-informed care.

Now, in my current role as a therapist, I’m committed to helping clients cultivate resilience by fostering self-awareness. I employ evidence-based practices encouraging self-reflection, examining how early life experiences and interpersonal relationships affect your healing process.

Outside The Therapy Room.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a movie enthusiast who still finds ways to put my documentary filmmaking background to use. I consider myself a highly creative person and am always looking for the next project that sparks my curiosity. When I’m not working as a therapist, you’ll likely find me outdoors with my dog, Milo, and a camera in hand, chasing good light and trying to capture meaningful moments as they unfold.

My Approach.

My sessions often take a client-centred approach, creating a collaborative process of unlearning damaging self-beliefs, practicing healthy coping skills, and reclaiming your life through a therapeutic relationship that holds curiosity and compassion. Above all, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space to express your thoughts freely. Below are some of the modalities I draw from in practice:

Psychodynamic Therapy

A form of talk therapy that focuses on understanding how your past experiences, especially early relationships and patterns, continue to shape how you think, feel, and relate to others today.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

A therapeutic approach that understands the mind as made up of different “parts,” each carrying its own feelings, beliefs, and roles. IFS therapy helps you gently get to know these parts with curiosity and compassion.

Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy

An approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps you notice unhelpful thinking patterns and gently challenge them to respond to situations in more balanced and effective ways.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

A skills-based approach that helps you manage intense emotions, improve relationships, and build greater emotional stability. It focuses on finding a balance between acceptance and change for meaningful growth.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

An approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps you notice unhelpful thinking patterns and gently challenge them to respond to situations in more balanced and effective ways.

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)

An approach that focuses on the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It helps you notice unhelpful thinking patterns and gently challenge them to respond to situations in more balanced and effective ways.
